Urgency
Urgency must be created. Urgency must be seen. URGENCY IS A CLOSER’S BEST FRIEND. After damages, it is an excellent time to use an urgency statement.
• “Now folks, we may not agree on everything, but we can probably agree this has to be done, right?”
• “Whether you choose us or someone else, I am going to recommend getting this done sooner rather than later.”
• “Could you use a different shower until you hire someone to fix? That would really be best.”
• “This has to be done, right?”
Getting your client to say “Yes, this has to be done.” is a powerful tie-down/commitment question.
PRO TIP: Some bathrooms look fine and have no damage. However, if your customer says “they HATE the bathroom/shower,” it provides you with your urgency. It
would be a great time to say, “oh, gotcha, so this HAS to get done, right?” Urgency can also be built with the time of year.
